SMHAFF Workshops


Would you like to learn how to relax by looking around you? and keep the images with you?Healthy n Happy are running an interactive session for Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival, that will help you explore what is calming in sights and sounds around us, and record this using your own smartphones.  No experience needed, bring along your smartphone.

Stop Smoking Groups

Fed up smoking, want to quit. Come along to one of the Lanarkshire Stop Smoking Services in your area:

  • Wednesdays at 6pm in Whitlawburn Community Resource Centre, Cambuslang
  • Thursdays at 6pm in Rutherglen Primary Care Centre, Stonelaw Road, Rutherglen

Group support is offered for a minimum of 12 weeks and participants supplied with free NRT or Chanpix

Overtoun Park Jogging Group

Overtoun Park Jogging Group is pleased to welcome any new joggers to join them! The group have been meeting for a number of years, meeting at Victoria Fountain, 10am most Sundays.
We are always looking for leaders, deputy leaders and local residents looking to get fit, meet new people and have a bit of fun.  This group is more social than competitive so please don’t feel you have to be Yusain Bolt or Mo Farrah, we want you to be just yourself.
For further information on the group please come along to the fountain any Sunday morning and speak with any of the group, they will welcome you with a smile and encouragement.

Scottish Mental Health First Aid

A 12 hour course that helps people recognise the signs and symptoms of someone experiencing mental health problems. The course helps you to respond to various mental health episodes and support and sign post people to the appropriate professional services. 

All of the courses will be delivered at  Healthy n Happy offices at Farmeloan Road, Rutherglen and lunch will be provided.

The course is free to local residents of Cambuslang and Rutherglen, otherwise fees upon enquiry.

Camglen Bike Town Go Further Thursdays

Once a month we are now running a Thursday ride which aims to go a bit further and faster to stretch the legs and stamina. Don't worry we will still include a rest stop, with time for tea/coffee and every cyclists favourite, cake!
Meet at our Bike Shop at 9.30am if you wish to borrow a bike and arrive by 10am if you are bringing your own.
All CamGlen Bike Town cycling events are open to people living or working in Cambuslang and Rutherglen. To book a place on any of these activities or for more information email or phone the office on 0141 647 3250.

We dont have any info stalls at the moment, new venues to be announced soon in the meantime you can tune in to their show on CamGlen Radio 107.9FM Tuesdays 1pm- 2pm.

The Parent Cafés

Wednesdays 11:30am until 1:30pm and The Follow On Group Fridays 10am until 12 noon both at Whitlawburn Community Resource Centre. Thursdays 13:30pm until 3pm at Burnhill Sports Centre. A chance for parents and carers of babies and toddlers to have a cuppa and share information and support.

Bike Town Social Rides

These social rides are a fantastic way to get out the house, stay active and meet new people all the while enjoying the beautiful outdoors, watching the world go by. The group meets every Wendesday at 10.15am, anyone who lives within the G72 & G73 area who doesn't have a bike are also welcome to borrow one of our stock. Bike Town is located at Unit 5 Thomson Court, Rutherglen, G73 2RR.
