Representatives from Healthy n Happy were in London last week to collect the prestigious GSK Impact UK Award. The local charity was 1 of 10 winners on the night who were selected out of 400 organisations from all over the UK. The ceremony was held on Thursday 18th May at the London Science Museum.
This was the awards 20th anniversary that recognises excellence in charities improving health and wellbeing in their communities. Healthy n Happy were given the award for providing opportunities such as volunteering, one-to-one support, health and wellbeing activities and initiatives like CamGlen Radio and Bike Town for local people to actively improve their lives.
As part of the award the charity will receive a £30 000 in funding as part of its prize, as well as expert support and development from The King’s Fund. This means Healthy n Happy will have access to training and leadership development tailored to its needs and also be invited to join the GSK IMPACT Awards Network, a national network of more than 70 award-winning health and wellbeing charities working together to develop their leaders, find new ways of working, and support others.
A video was produced by The Kings Fund to detail the work of Healthy n Happy which you can watch here.
