Wee Adventure Club

"We are lucky to have this group to come along to every week"

Young Person

The Burnhill Children’s Group has now developed into two groups, the younger group for 5-8 year olds and the older group for 8-12 year olds. These are issue based groups free to all children living in Burnhill aged 5 to 12 years old. So far the group have explored the following issues:

  • How we want to improve our community-designs of the physical area they live in
  • Our role within our community- exploring our own identity and the role we play within our community
  • Everyday people - looking at accepting all walks of life
  • Mental health awareness - exploring mental health issues and accepting those who live with mental health problems
  • Second Hand Smoke - general awareness of the risks of second hand smoke for children and the family
  • The environment- exploring waste reduction, recycling and improving the environment of the area
  • Mood Food - How food and exercise can affect emotional wellbeing

Starting in August we will have exciting plans for the group for the year ahead for Burnhill young people, so come along and see what's going on!
